Donna Luchkiw is May’s Employee of the Month

Our May Employee of the Month is Donna Luchkiw. This is what her supervisor had to say, “Donna has only been working in our Legal Department for a short period of time, but it didn’t take long to realize that she is conscientious, follows direction well and seems eager to learn and understand the work assigned to her.  She is kind and friendly. We were excited to have her on our team when we heard how reliable and hardworking she was and her willingness to help where needed.  We’re fortunate to have her and looking forward to working with her in the upcoming months!”

Thank you, Donna, for being a wonderful employee!!

The Employee of the Month is chosen based on supervisor feedback, attendance, and performance.

We change lives

Recently I made a call to a customer who hired a second administrative professional through Specialized just to check in and see how things were going.  She was never available to talk when we were working on the searches, so I was appreciative when she took my call and I thanked her for that up front.  What she said next made my day.  “I was never able to talk because I never had the time.  I can talk now because my life is completely different because of you.”  My life is completely different because of you.   WOW!  Around here we don’t have rules to follow, but rather a set of non-negotiables that everyone on this team must believe in order to succeed here.  And non-negotiable #1 is this:  ‘We believe we impact the lives of the people we place and the success of the companies we work with”   What a great example!

Is Your Companies PTO Policy Costing You Good Employees?

“This sounds like a great opportunity.” the candidate said. “What are the benefits like?”  So we discussed various health care options, additional insurance, retirement plans, and then it happened…..PTO…and the conversation was over.  If your company is not offering a competitive amount of paid time off you certainly are not alone, but you are likely also among the many companies that are struggling to attract/retain good people, no matter how wonderful you are to work for otherwise.  Especially post-pandemic, work-life balance is even more important than monetary compensation to many candidates we meet.  In fact, often it is THE driver that compels someone to even consider making a move.  Take a look at this insightful article that provides current Paid Time Off trends in the US.  If your companies PTO offering is below average, you just may be losing great people to companies offering more right in your back yard.
