EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Our June Employee of the Month is Sasha Minich.  Sasha’s supervisor says “Sasha has gone above and beyond. She truly stands out in our department as a star employee. She has taken initiative to provide feedback on processes. She asks questions for clarification. Sasha will soon be asked to train new employees during onboarding. Sasha has progressed to being able to take on additional work/practices and is a true asset to our department. We recently asked Sasha to accompany us to an onsite visit for a Practice/Care Center Roundtable because of her excellent insight into our operations.”

HOLIDAY – July 4th

Since July 4th falls on Sunday, our office will be closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of the July 4th Holiday.

 Time sheets are due Tuesday, July 6th by 9:00am.

We strongly suggest that you submit your time sheet at the end of your work week, whether that be Friday July 2nd or Saturday July 3rd.  This also allows your supervisor more time to approve it!  If time sheets are not received by 9:00 am on Tuesday, July 6th, your paycheck will not be processed until the following week.

REFERRALS

Specialized is always looking for good people and you can help!  Research has shown, and our own experience supports this, new hires that come into a company through employee referrals are excellent contributors and stay with the company longer.

MEMORIAL DAY REMINDER

Specialized will be closed on Monday, May 31st in observation of Memorial Day.

Time sheets are due by 9:00am on Tuesday, June 1st.

When it came time to update hardware in the late 20-teens, and at the suggestion of our forward-thinking staff, Specialized Staffing & Industry Recruiters opted to switch from desktop computers to laptops. From 8-5 Monday through Friday we are accessible to you, the companies who rely on us to find top-notch candidates to fill key positions quickly, efficiently, and, most importantly, effectively. However, the candidates we vet for you are often already employed professionals accessible to us primarily outside of normal work hours. We’re essentially on-call round the clock. It became quickly apparent to us that the ability to carry our “desks” from location to location and not be hampered by four walls was incredibly useful. We wrapped up 2019 intending to work completely remotely by the end of 2020.

The idea resonated with us. We are a dedicated, cohesive team and knew square footage in a specific location was not required, or even desirable, to achieve the recruitment outcomes you expect—truly require—from us. It was the now infamous Mid-March 2020, when Lisa Guard, our president, was out of the office — OK, relaxing on a Florida beach taking a well-deserved break — that the call came in to close our office and move all operations to remote locations within 24 hours. The plan we expected to execute by December 2020 went into full swing at that moment. We didn’t miss a beat. And we’ve not looked back.

EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, it has been a very challenging year and we are SUPER THANKFUL for ALL our awesome clients and employees.  This month we would like to say an extra special THANK YOU to a very special group of people.  Nicholas Brackett, Cathleen Neese, Debra Drushel, Janice Turner, Jade Bowers, Pasqualina Tirk, Ellen Blose, Teresa Montiel-Rasp, Heather Thompson, Thomas Smith, Mitchell Bachman and Sharon Higgins, worked tirelessly over the past six weeks processing ballots and getting things ready for and helping to wind down the November election.  This was a very important assignment, and we are incredibly proud and appreciative of everyone on the team for the long hours and hard work to get Butler County through this historical project!

REMINDERS FOR THE UPCOMING HOLIDAY

Please read the following carefully:

Specialized will be closed Thursday, November 26th, and November 27th to observe the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Please check with the company that you are working at to find out which day/days they will be closed for Thanksgiving.  We have 24-hour voicemail, if you need to leave a message over the holiday break.  If your call is urgent, we will return it as soon as possible, if not we will call you when we return to work.

Please submit your time sheet before you leave for the Holiday.

We highly suggest that you submit your time sheet before you leave work for the Thanksgiving Holiday. 

Even though you may be working on Monday, November 30th your time sheet approver may not be, so to be on the safe side, please submit your time before you leave Wednesday for Thanksgiving especially if the place you are working is closed on Friday also.

Late time sheets will not be processed until the following week. 

When completing your timesheet, please DO NOT enter Holiday or PTO time into the daily time area but instead list the time in the Remarks area.

HOLIDAY PAY

The following can be found on the back cover of your employee handbook.  If you need a new handbook, please let us know and we can send you one.  Specialized Staffing employees are entitled to holiday pay when the company they are working for observes the holiday.  The possible eligible holidays are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

The following requirements must be met to receive Holiday Pay:

  • Must work consecutively for 480 hours preceding the holiday.
  • Must work the scheduled day before and after the holiday.
  • Holiday pay cannot be used in calculation of overtime pay.
